DECA is a co-curricular organization open to students currently enrolled in Marketing I, Marketing II, and Cooperative Education, as well as those who have previously taken one or more or those courses.  All students in these programs should join DECA in order to benefit from the opportunities offered both in the classroom setting and out of school in the community and through various learning and travel opportunities.  The curriculum is closely tied to the National Standards which are used for DECA competitive events, the MS Course of study, and the marketing and business career clusters.
bulletDECA is focused on four main components: Career Understanding, Social Intelligence, Leadership Development, and Community Service.
bulletDECA offers numerous leadership and career development conferences and opportunities.
bulletDECA Members have opportunities for educational travel related to careers.
bulletDECA Members have opportunities to compete at the District, State and International levels.
bulletDECA Members are offered competency-based, written, and public speaking competitions.
bulletDECA Members have opportunities to win cash prizes at International Competitions.
bulletDECA Members have opportunities to earn State and National Scholarships.
bulletDECA Members have opportunities to meet students from all over Mississippi,  the U.S. and a number of foreign countries.
bulletDECA Members have opportunities to learn and experience the importance of giving back to our community through various kinds of service projects such as Habitat for Humanity, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Red Cross, the Boys and Girls Clubs, etc.

DECA Dues for the year are $30.00, which includes Local, State, and National dues and issues of DECA Dimensions magazine delivered to the school.  Bay High has had 100% Membership Awards from National DECA since 2004-2005.
